4 researchers from Yamagata University have been selected as "Excellent Young Researchers" through "Leading Initiative for Excellent Young Researchers (LEADER)", a program started by Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology-Japan from 2016. Yamagata University ranked the 3rd next to The University of Tokyo (6 researchers) and Kyoto University (5 researchers) among national universities.
